New Beginnings
The Steve Pettit Ministries experienced its new beginning with the arrival of our team on August 13.
Carson, Kierston, Jack, Brinly, Savannah, and Luke met in Greenville, SC, to begin an intensive three-week training for the year-long itinerary of the Steve Pettit Ministries. We spent our first week in prayer meetings, Bible studies, constant music rehearsals, logistical planning, and eating lots of meals together. Building a group that is focused on mission and vision takes intentional focused time together.
We focused on what a grace ministry looks like.
We began each morning studying 2 Corinthians and how we minister out of divine enablement. It has been a transformative time for everyone to realize that God works in you first to work through you. God has put his treasure in clay pots to demonstrate that we are not sufficient to minister. I am so thankful for each one as they bring to the team commitment, talent, and humble dependence.
Our mission is to glorify God by supporting the local church through services, concerts, conferences, and unique events emphasizing gospel-centered evangelism. We were excited to begin our schedule in my home church, University Baptist, in Clemson, S.C., on Sunday, August 20. We were delighted that evening to be in a full service at the Hampton Park Baptist Church, in Greenville.
As we begin this ministry, it has been truly exciting to see God provide our needs. Our greatest need is prayer.
