Meet the Team
Originally from Quitman, Arkansas, Carson Aaron is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and vocalist. He has been playing music in churches since he was a child and first started playing the upright bass with his dad’s bluegrass band at the age of five. At age 17, Carson joined the award-winning bluegrass band from Branson, MO, “Southern Strings” with whom he made his first appearance on stages at Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO, and at the International Bluegrass Music Association’s World of Bluegrass Festival. At eighteen, he signed a management deal with Pearce Entertainment in Dallas, TX to write and record music. God used Carson’s brief time in the country music industry to show him the purpose for which God created music, to reflect God’s beauty and to communicate the truth. He followed God’s leading to Bob Jones University where he met his wife Savannah, and he graduated with a degree in Ministry and Leadership in 2023.
As well as an instrumentalist and vocalist, Carson is an accomplished songwriter having written over 50 songs. You can find his work on The Steve Pettit Band’s first recording, including the title track, “Unite My Heart”, as well as “So Sweet” and “Give Thanks”.
Savannah Aaron, from Rexburg, Idaho has been in music ministry from an early age. She began playing violin at the age of three and quickly became involved in local church ministry with her family. Growing up, Savannah was involved in piano competitions, chamber groups, summer violin camp, teaching violin to young students, and leading as concert master in the school orchestra program for 7 years. She was selected to play with IMEA All-state Honor Groups for 4 years, NAfME NW in Portland, OR, and the Idaho Falls Youth Symphony for 5 years. Savannah attended Bob Jones University where she met her husband, Carson, and studied Violin Performance. During her time at BJU, Savannah was introduced to bluegrass music and quickly showed herself to be a very capable fiddle player. In her free time, Savannah enjoys anything outdoors which includes snowboarding, skiing, and mountain climbing.
From Robbins, North Carolina, Jack is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. At ten years old, Jack picked up a bass and started playing with a small church group at local nursing homes and churches. At age 12, he started taking banjo lessons and quickly worked his way into music circles at a local music venue, Clyde Maness’ music barn. After highschool graduation, he attended Emory and Henry College, where he played football as an inside linebacker. Jack also attended North Greenville University, playing football as well. He has won first place at several local fiddlers conventions, including Theron Caviness banjo player of the Year award twice. When not playing music, Jack enjoys watching football, and is an avid fly-fisherman.
Jack also enjoys writing instrumental bluegrass music. His work includes the single released by The Steve Pettit Band in the summer of 2024, “Spider on the Banjo” featuring Jack on banjo, Carson Aaron on mandolin, former Steve Pettit Band member Luke Bomar on bass, and grammy award winning guests, Andy Leftwich and Cody Kilby on fiddle and guitar.
Born and raised in Camden, South Carolina, Emily Guy is a vocalist and songwriter. She was self-taught on the guitar at the age of 13 and began writing songs around that time as well. She was in choir at her local church, chorus throughout middle school and high school and participated in local talent shows as well as music events in her hometown. At the age of 17 she recorded her single ‘Come to Me’ in Nashville. While pursuing a career in Elementary Education at Clemson University she had the opportunity to record a small project, which tells the story of growing up navigating life as a follower of Christ. This EP is called ‘Twenties’ and it consists of 4 songs that wrestle through the intricacies of growing up. Throughout her college years, Emily fell more in love with Jesus, missions, the local body of believers, and music and prays that the Lord will continue to use the gifts He’s given her to bring glory to His great name!
Born and raised in Robbins, North Carolina, Hallie is a multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter. At age nine, Hallie began learning how to play the guitar and quickly found a love for music. Since then, she has enjoyed sharing her love of music alongside her brother, Jack. They have played in several bluegrass bands together through the years. Hallie attended Bob Jones University and graduated in May 2024 with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in finance. During her time at Bob Jones, Hallie participated in the university’s bluegrass group, “BJUgrass,” from 2021-2023. She also played on the intercollegiate BJU Bruins women’s basketball team as a post player.
In addition to her role as a singer, songwriter, and musician for Steve Pettit Ministries, Hallie also serves as the office manager for the ministry.
